I don't usually have Alex home with me during the day because it's hard to get work done. I realized, though, that he was feeling a little cooped up. I asked him if he wanted to go for a walk and he practically lunged for me, grinning. :) We walked barefoot around the complex, him toddling along, looking like Frankenstein's monster, and I followed along. We squatted down and watched ants hurrying by, we sniffed our neighbors' spring flowers, we checked out the cars going by, discovered some wild mint growing, wiggled our toes in the grass and looked at the delicate yellow flowers in the clover. We had a lovely time. I value my job, but I regret missing the opportunity to spend more unhurried time like this with my babies.
