If only getting along with people was as easy for all of us as it is for 5 year olds. We went to Disneyland after work for Marc's birthday on Monday. I took him on Soarin Over California (a hang gliding simulator ride) while Marcelo took Alex on a ride he could go on. We were in line behind a family which included a 5 year old girl. It started with her playing on the line rail and him trying to keep up with her (to impress the older girl of course! lol) then they started talking (or him talking and her trying to get a word in edgewise). When we got near the front of the line, we were sent one way and they were sent another. Marc looked up at me and asked "Where did the little girl go?" and I pointed a few rows over. And he said "But she's my friend!" She came over to the barrier and called to him and waved.

Too bad we all can't get past our hang ups of getting to know people who are unknown or different than us so quickly and make friends so easily. And if only we all had the forgiveness of a 5 year old.
