They got worse as a teenager but in 2001 new drugs went on the market for migraines that made a big difference. Recently, however, the one I've been using since then hasn't been working as well. So, I went back to the neurologist. One of the things he prescribed for me was Topamax, a daily medication that's supposed to make me have less migraines.
One of the side effects that many people report is weight loss. I've been kind of hoping that I'll have that side effect. Then I noticed something. The day after I started taking it, things started tasting different to me. I'm an awful Coke and chocolate addict. (no, chocolate and caffeine were never a migraine trigger for me) I swore that the Coke in our fridge had gone flat because it tasted funny and I couldn't stand it. But then Coke at a restaurant tasted the same way. I had a chocolate shake. It tasted too rich and I could only tolerate a few sips. So that's the way it works! It makes me not like the things that I love that are bad for me! Not fair! ;) Now lets just hope it actually works on the migraines. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
