We've been trying to have conversations with Marc about skin color, but it seems to be far too complicated a topic and he ends up sighing a lot and trying to change the subject. I suppose it doesn't help that at the same time we're pointing out that different people he knows don't have all the same color skin, we come back to that skin color doesn't matter.

I really think that up until this point, he never really noticed or thought much about what color skin people had. And I don't want to talk about it so much that it starts being a defining thing for him and something he starts noticing all the time.

It did make me a little sad that when Marcelo told him that he was part light brown like him, Marc said "But I don't want to be light brown! I want to be peach!" Of course, Marcelo tried to lighten the mood by telling him that his butt is peach and his toes are peach, but his arms are light brown. ;)
