2006-05-17 6:30 PM Cheap wine review: Little Boomey Okay, let me confess. I am a lush. I love wine. I would drink it all day long if I could without flushing red and laughing too loudly.
Living near Napa and Sonoma Valley for 3 years only made that worse. The problem is, Naoto and I have no more money reserves since buying the house. I can't indulge in wine in the manner I was accustomed to for the past six years. So when I was at Target the other day, I saw this wine, Little Boomey Shiraz-Cabernet, on sale for $4.99 and decided to pick it up. Inside I was ashamed to be a)buying wine at Target and b)buying a wine called "little boomey" but I sucked it up. (because, you know, I still give my mom grief about all those years we had box o chardonnay in our refrigerator) However, when I tasted it, it was extremely good. There was no alcoholy taste or that 'young wine' feeling on your tongue when you first taste a cheapo wine. I have to say that it was better than a $20 oregon pinot noir I recently tried. I definitely need to try more Australian Shiraz. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
