2006-08-04 1:14 PM spec fic wimp Dude, I've always been a lightweight when it comes to movies. I had to hide my eyes for the ending of E.T. for goodness sakes.
And we won't even mention The Shining. Or how I had to sleep with the lights on for a long time after that. I've been utterly freaked out just by the trailer for the movie "The Descent" (played a zillion times during the Who Wants to be a Superhero episode I watched last night) But it's worse now, it's spreading to books. I picked up a book at the library that looked good, something called "something Panic's Opera Macabre" because of the cool title. I read one chapter, wherein the hero is driving through the backwoods of Italy and comes upon a ramshackle house. And all these warning bells went off in my head, so I skipped to the last page. (Yes, yes, I know, I do it all the time. I just can't stand not knowing.) And read one paragraph on the last page where the hero gets his head crushed by a torture device and decided the book wasn't worth it. I NEVER do that. Once I start reading, no matter how terrible, I keep reading to the end. It's not about what's going to happen with me, it's about how it's going to happen. But I just knew that if I read this book I would regret it. I am such a wimp these days. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
