Naoto's back in Japan as of today. Tomorrow is Mia's Taiko debut- she's performing with the other members of her Taiko camp at the Nikkei picnic here in Portland. I am totally excited, but sad that Naoto's going to miss it.

Anyway, we had a full day meeting with other caucasian wives/Japanese husband families in the morning, having one of those families stay overnight with us, and watching hula at the Uwajimaya (japanese grocery/book store) polynesian festival today.

Mia informed me she wanted to learn hula, but then in the car on the way home switched back to cheerleader. I think I'd prefer the hula, actually...
