TRH word count and Snippet!
I was getting bored just posting word counts, so I stole an idea from other sf writer's blogs and am posting a word count and snippet.
(and there was much rejoicing.)
from Chapter Eight: Ueno and a battle
"How was it possible that hidden underneath all this mundane traffic were tunnels with tanuki living in them? Or how had Mari missed noticing the half-magics who lived in Ueno park? The tanuki hadn’t said, but Mari guessed the victims had been homeless. She tried to remember any likely candidates. All the homeless were quirky in some way, she couldn’t remember thinking them extra-worldly.
What else was waiting out there to surprise her? She really didn’t want to know the answer to that question until she had at least five hours of sleep. Mari slipped under her light blanket and fell asleep thinking about giant snakes and tanukis."
