2007-01-11 8:20 PM Don't Second Guess Yourself Anecdotal evidence from Kirsten's life that agrees with this article about how Snap Decisions are better than Well-thought out ones :
1. Naoto has always had this uncanny ability to made unerring first impression judgements of people- regardless of gender or culture. The people he's disliked on sight have always ended up either annoying me or difficult as friends. 2. I always do better on multiple choice tests when I go with my first instinctive answer rather than going back later and second guessing myself by changing my answers. 3. I chose my undergrad college from a "snap" judgement (one minute on campus) and I couldn't possibly have consciously taken in the atmosphere that quickly, nor had I discovered the excellent choir or Japanese studies program, yet after visiting about six different colleges, I KNEW that Earlham was the one for me after one minute. 4. I tend to get better books when I take Mia and Maika to the library with me. Their presence forces me to choose books quickly rather than to leisurely thumb through pages.
