If that isn't some metaphysical comment on Japanese-American relations, I don't know what is. At the very least somebody needs to write a poem or story titled "Blackberry on Bamboo" or something like that.

We just got back from Michigan where my uncle Jim had his 50th wedding anniversary. Wow, 50 years. Naoto and I are only on year 9.

It made me nostalgic for my childhood all over again, as well as made me proud that I could finally show my children to my dad's family.

I think I need to go work for Northwest so we can afford to fly to Japan, Michigan, Wichita, and Cleveland once every year.

Right. OR win the lottery.
