2008-02-25 7:57 AM 2008 Books #27 Artemis Fowl I expected Artemis Fowl to be geared toward Middle Grade, rather than YA, don't ask me why. But despite the protagonist being a 12 year old boy (and truthfully he didn't act or talk like one, so what does it matter that he's 12?), I thought the rest of it would be better appreciated by young adults.
A 12 year old genius discovers the existence of faerie. He after stealing a book of their rules, he and his martial arts servant set a trap for a faerie to blackmail them out of gold. His play goes slightly awry when the faerie he ends up catching is Captain Short of the LEPrecon police unit. Hijinks ensue. It was an enjoyable read, and I think boys would really like the action. For me, it was kind of so so. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
