2008-04-03 12:15 PM hopeful thing of the day...kind of If you've never heard Brother Iz 's music, I recommend listening to his best known song.
It's not the Somewhere Over the Rainbow you think you know. Anyway, Naoto hasn't recovered from our Hawaii trip, and neither has girl2, apparently. They both say about once every two days that they want to go back to Kauai. Sigh. Anyway, it probably doesn't help that I've bought the putumayo Hawaii collection. Nope, doesn't help to hear "come to hawaii, come to hawaii, come to hawaii with me" constantly in the car... Anyway, back to the point, here. (yes, helena, I have a point, you'd be so proud) One line that particularly gets me in Brother Isaiah's song is: "...I hear babies cry, and I watch them grow. They'll learn much more than we'll know. And I think to myself, what a wonderful world." Because that's hopeful to me after I check my gmail account and find like a million emails from Biogems and the Sierra Club about all the ways our government is currently messing up this country, literally.
