The Suzukis finally got around to checking out the new Asian supermarket, H Mart in Tigard (on 99w near SW Walnut).

Uwajimaya better watch out. Japanese-specific things that I noticed at much cheaper prices were Golden Curry, tofu, pickled vegetables, mushroom rice base, yakisoba noodles, etc.

It had a HUGE produce section and noodle section.

My overall feeling is that while Uwajimaya tends to be Phillipine/ Pacific Islander/Japanese specific, H Mart is more Korean, Southeast Asia, Japan.

The biggest problem is that its location on 99w in Tigard makes it PERFECT for stopping by every Saturday on the way to pick up girl1 from Saturday Japanese school....
