2008-08-30 7:06 PM Hopworks in SE Portland It's been a while since Naoto and I went to a pub, and his company had given a dinner over at Hopworks Brewery a few months ago (which in turn made me look it up online.)
Since I saw it had a kids' corner, I decided we should check it out en masse familia (so to speak) after seeing the Reptiles and Amphibians over at OMSI today. Yes, baby. Five thumbs up (if I had them) to this urban brewery. There was indeed a kids corner with walls covered by chalkboards, Melissa and Doug fake pizza making toys and the colored menus of kid patrons taped to the wall. The chicken wings were AWESOME and not too awfully hot, although the waitress brought some extra hot sauce without any prompting. Pizza was great. Real pizza. Pizza with a thin crust and savory sauce that I could have eaten even in the throes of morning sickness (my highest honor) We ordered the beer sampler (a very good bargain at $6.50) and while there were about three that didn't impress me, the stout "finished with Stumptown Espresso" that actually tasted of coffee and caramel ROCKED. Definitely going there again. And it was definitely family friendly. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
