2003-10-31 10:13 PM Brossard Bibliotheque Well, first, let me just quote from Variety.com:
'Coupling' cancelled Stateside version of BBC hit fizzles It's coitus interruptus for NBC's "Coupling." Peacock has pulled the plug on frosh laffer, shutting down production Friday and informing the show's producers that additional episodes will not be ordered. Gee.. think maybe that's because it WASN'T FUNNY? So anyway. This one's chattier than my previous entries, because I really haven't done anything recently except write. I'm pleased with my last couple of days' work, but I'm very disappointed that I didn't really hit my work rhythm until yesterday. I discovered the library behind the Esso station on Tuesday, and then Wednesday they were closed. So I didn't have my "work all day" space until yesterday--and tomorrow and Sunday they're only open 10-5. So while I'm glad to have reached the last page of my 3rd draft re-key, I'm not at all happy that it didn't happen three days ago. The Breakfast Club on Taschereau has not disappointed yet. However, I have overindulged in these very nice Quebecois carbohydrates, so now it's back to meat, vegetables, caffeine, and Splenda. No more latkes benedict--and I STILL haven't tried poutine. But the Breakfast Club Omelette contains a full animal's worth of meat per serving, and their rib steak is good, and all the stores here take Monopoly money, and I'm feeling a little better, so I guess I shouldn't complain. I just wish I were three days farther along than I am. On the other hand, there are some very funny new lines and better details, and the subplot makes more sense now. On the other hand, those funny lines and subplot added 7 pages, and that's even after cutting an entire musical number. (And I know who's going to email me after reading that.) On the other hand, I don't think I could even tell you what the story is about right now. There's something about changing a 120-page story through a half-page window on a computer screen that makes me unable to hold it in my mind as a single object. Luckily, they have printers at the library, so I'll save it out as a PDF tonight, email it to my hotmail account, pick it up on a library computer, and print it out. So the next question is, do I spend my remaining three days marking it up and revising, or do I set it aside, work on the music for two days, and then revise on the train home? I know which makes more sense, but which I'll do remains a mystery. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
