SELL IN HELL in Detroit

I'm happily looking forward to visiting Detroit this week for SELL IN HELL's screenings at the Farmington Funny Film Festival. There's very little as pleasant as traveling to a city you've never been to, bunking with a lifelong friend and collaborator who's flying in from elsewhere, watching your film together among an audience you're not related to, and then spending an insane amount of money on dinner at the most expensive restaurant in the city.

There are so many parts of this that are downright irresponsible that it's pretty much the perfect way to spend a weekend.

I was hoping to pop over the border and head up to Toronto for Bouchercon, which happens on same dates, but logistics just don't look promising. It's not unlikely this will be the only time Blake and I will ever be in Detroit as short comedy filmmakers, so I don't want to spend all my festival time getting back and forth from Toronto on a bus.

SELL IN HELL will screen in the 9 AM and 3 PM programming blocks this Saturday, October 9, at the Farmington Funny Film Festival, Farmington Hills, Michigan.

And I'm looking for a talented, experienced DP in the New York area for an October 25 one-day shoot in Brooklyn. It won't pay anywhere near what anyone's worth, but it won't be for free, it's unusual, and all the people involved are non-bozos. Email me if you know somebody.

Pledges are still trickling in for the Tour for a Cure. As soon as I'm pretty sure they're done, I'll let you know the exact total.
