2005-08-08 10:04 AM ILY: Meetings I LOVE YOU, I'M SORRY, AND I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN, currently in pre-production. This evening is my penultimate DP interview. The bulk of my interviews happened on Friday; the first meeting was with a guy who posted a general availability notice on the withoutabox.com message boards. I offered him the position of costumer in email that evening, and he wrote me back the next day and accepted. (Larry P., you'll be hearing from me shortly about a meeting so he can get your measurements.) There are two extremely strong choreography candidates, and it's going to be very hard telling either of them "no thank you." But that will happen in the next few days. Out of 7 scheduled meetings, I had 2 last-minute reschedules and 1 no-show. The no-show was a producer candidate, so just as well I found out now that he's unreliable. My first criterion for hiring people on my projects is that they do their jobs better than I could. I have references to check over the next couple of days. After that, I'll meet with the choreographer and costumer, since I have ideas that will only work if the two of them are collaborating directly with each other. Unrelated to the film: If there's something better than making two seven-month-olds crack up so hard they turn red--for 20 minutes straight--God help me, I don't know what it is. No pictures, sorry. It was too important to keep them laughing. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
