2005-08-30 12:38 PM ILY: DP ad I LOVE YOU, I'M SORRY, AND I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN, currently in pre-production. I'm advertising at the American Society of Cinematographers webite. Their classified rates are on the high side, so I'm linking the ad to this page. Seeking DP for dark musical short film (New York area) Cult novelist and experienced, festival-award-winning writer/director/composer seeks DP with own equipment including Steadicam (or other moving camera rig--I'm open) for an 8-minute, black-comedy screen musical: Current plan is to shoot in late November somewhere in the tri-state area, depending on where we find a suitable location. Most likely a 3-day shoot: 2 days in an industrial location and 1 day in a studio. This is subject to change. We will try to avoid needing pickups, but they're possible. Most modern screen musicals make fun of the genre; we're not going to do that. We love the genre. Our previous musical short is now starting to get into festivals. You can check it (and me) out here. DP on the new project will be expected to participate in pre-production, including choreography sessions in New York City in order to plan camera moves. Production budget is $10K. Camera/lights/grip/electric budget is a flat figure of $2500, all in. TO APPLY: Email a résumé to keith@woollymammoth.com with the subject line "DP for short film." Include a way that I can view your reel, and please ask questions. If you don't have a reel and résumé, please don't apply. You can download the script in PDF format here. Thanks!
