2001-09-04 9:19 AM The Weekend In Review Friday night I went to HRD class and learned quite a bit! The instructors were very generous to me and I'm making good progress.
Saturday, Jenn and I drove out to Ontario Mills Mall, the biggest mall in these parts. We did a lot of window shopping, and a little bit of actual shopping. I got to introduce Jenn to her first skate park, and she seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. The skate park is actually inside the mall. It's got to be one of the greatest ideas for a mall store in a long time... mom's come to the mall and drop their kid off at the skate park to amuse themselves while the mom shops.. all the kids skating out in the parking lot that the mall security is always trying to chase away, can just come in and skate on really awesome terrain. After our time in the temple of commerce, we saw Planet of the Apes (second time for me, but Jenn hadn't seen it yet). I really enjoy the movie, right up until the last 20 minutes or so (if you've seen it, you know what I mean), but Jenn didn't like it. Sunday consisted mostly of gaming with Ken, our friend who just got back from Iceland. He kept a journalscape while he was there on an archaelogical dig! We played a couple games of Starfarer's of Catan and one game of Tikal. I had a good time, even though I screwed up one of the Starfarer's games by accidentally breaking a rule that I didn't realize, and we didn't catch it for like 6 turns. *sigh* ah well.. Monday consisted mostly of hanging with our friend Roger Boone. We went down to the park for a day of martial arts stuff. Roger and I sparred a little (so much fun!), we practiced techniques (Jenn can now sweep and throw her 245 lbs. b/f to the ground!) and all around just talked and enjoyed ourselves. We rounded the night out with Jet Li's Black Mask. A comic book-type super hero movie that's a lot of fun. Now, the weekend turns back into weekday... *sigh* that's ok though, happiness prevails. :) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
