This isn't where I thought I was going to be when I looked forward into my life, but here I am....

Real Life Resumes Unexpectedly

I took my car in for its 15,000 mile service. It was also making a very slight noise, so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone. When I got the car back, it was making an even worse noise, so I turned around and gave it back.

It turns out there is a problem with the transmission... and apparently, there are problems with Honda Accord transmissions all over the country right now (I'm guessing due to a manufactoring flaw). So, it may take weeks to get a replacement. *sigh* The mechanic thinks they are literally making more in the factories and shipping them out.

So, here I stand looking at a future with my rental Ford Mustang. I thought it might be cool, to drive a Mustang for awhile, it's supposed to be a good car right? Rubbish. Thus begins the Ford Mustang rant. Children, divert your eyes. :)

First, there is very little room inside. Ironically though (hope I'm using that correctly), it's very difficult to reach the control panel where the A/C and the radio is. These are very minor things though, so let's skip ahead.

The car is one huge blind spot. All of the windows are so small, it's impossible to see who is around you. When I look in the rear view mirror of the car, I can actually see the top and the bottom of the window, which means, I should have a larger field of vision given the mirror I have, but it is restricted because the windows are too small.

I am conscious of the road. In my Accord, I feel a few bumps every now and then, but for the most part, I am insulated. However, in the Mustang, I'm constantly getting bounced and tossed around. My back was in knots when I got home yesterday.

Last and definately not least, this thing sucks gas like it was going out of style. I used 1/8 of a tank to get from Pasadena to LAX. Which means, I'll be using 1/4 tank of gas everyday! I'll have to fill this things tank every 4 days! I fill my Accord once a month! That one tank takes me to and from work over 20 times!

I told them, if they were going to keep me in a rental car for any period of time, they were going to need to get me a more fuel efficient one. I can handle the temporary uncomfortableness that comes with a rental car, but I certainly don't want to pay for gas hand over fist.
