I apologize for the latest of this entry, but I've been sick all weekend (still am).
Friday night, Jenn and I went over to Ken and Shelley's for weekly gaming, but walked into a surprise Wedding Shower! Friends _and_ family were there, I was amazed that Shelley and Nancy were able to get ahold of all of those people. The biggest surprise was that Marty, Jenn's mom, was there! She flew out all the way from Maryland, what a sweetheart.
There were many wonderful gifts given, apparently a "cooking" theme since Nancy tried to make cookies without stuff one before and came up short, and we went over to Shelley's to make some stuff before... they figured we needed a few things. ;)
I have always wondered at how my family and friends would mix, would they get along, would they be spontaneous combustion? I think it went very well, it was a little slow at first. Family was outnumbered so I introduced different people to them to spark conversations. My brother Tom was a little social butterfly, talking to everyone. Good show, Tom.
Our moms got to meet for the first time, and it looked and sounded like they really hit it off. Phew! :)
It was a wonderful night, I got to see people I haven't seen in a long time, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I cannot say that enough, thank you all SOOOO much!
