2002-04-21 10:46 AM Active Weekend Saturday morning I went to my HRD class, and I enjoyed myself. Didn't learn anything new, but worked on some old stuff. But then...
Then came Jenn's Cardio-Kickboxing class. I decided to go with her this time, and good god. *shakes head* I didn't make it through. Jenn is incredible, she's in so much better shape than I am! I think adding this cardio class to my regular HRD training is going to benefit me greatly. Saturday night, Tom and Tammy came over for conversation and gaming. My family is starting a tradition where we give a book that we enjoyed to other members of the family. Tom gave Thought Police: Inside the Left's Assault on Free Speech by Tammy Bruce, and I gave Way of the River: Adventures and Meditations of a Woman Martial Artist by B K Loren. I disliked Thought Police a great deal, and I enumerated the many problems I had with the book. Tom listened to what I had to say, was open minded, didn't neccessarily agree with everything I had to say, but we had an intelligent exchange and it was wonderful. Tom liked some sections of Way of the River (thankfully the sections I had anticipated he would enjoy), but disliked the rest of the book. He explained his feelings on it, and again we talked about it. Didn't neccessarily agree on every point, but had an intelligent conversation. Maybe this book exchange is going to work out. :) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
