2002-08-22 8:59 AM A Sucker for Reality TV So, if you know me personally, or you have read my journal for any length of time, you'll know I have a weakness for Reality TV. However, I am fairly selective in my consumption... until now.
Recently, I've started watching American Idol. I love watching these types of reality shows (I watched the ones with Eden's Crush and Stage 23), but American Idol has to be the worst of them all.... but I still love watching it. It's _SO_ painfully commericalized and lacking of any real substance. They manage to take about 8 minutes of content and stretch it out for 30 minutes. All of that aside though, I want to see which one of the kids is going to be chosen by the public to be a *superstar* (think Molly Shannon when you say that). I really want Nikki to win. She's totally not the Pop image, but I really think the pop music industry could use someone like her. Unfortunately, technically.. the other kids are better singers, I just think when allowed to sing her kind of songs, Nikki sells it so much better. The other kids sing AMAZINGLY.. but just like everyone else in the industry. I think Nikki brings something to the table that is new (for pop anyway). *babble babble babble* Yeah, I know, you've probably already stopped reading anyway. :) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
