2002-11-24 8:59 PM The Lord of the Weekend One Weekend to rule them all and in the darkness bind them....
This weekend was a mixture of good and bad, but happily mostly good. Some of the bad points were found in shopping for new clothes and once again being unable to deny my bulging stomach. I'm not really fat, but I do have a big stomach which never seems to go away no matter how much I excercise in class. There are lots of really kick ass shirts and such I could wear if it weren't for my stomach sticking out in them. Another bad point was that one of the sets of curtains that I hung pulled out of the wall. I had feared as much for that set, I wasn't sure if they were going to last when I hung them. They almost fell on Jenn, which couldn't have been that bad (they aren't that heavy), but anything that fell on Jenn because of my shoddy workmanship is a terrible thing indeed. On the up side... I went to Home Depot to buy stuff to hang the curtains properly and stumbled upon a set of 15 different drill bits. I figured I should get it so that I don't hesitate to do contructiony properly in the future. I found three sets... one for $21, one for $19 and a third which I couldn't find a price for. So I took it up to the counter and had them scan it. The clerk looked confused and scanned it again. Then said, "Um, you're not going to believe this but... it's a dollar." *blink*blink* "Are you serious?" says I. To which he explains that it may be a mistake but if that's the way it rings up he has to sell it to me for that much. Score! So, the curtains are properly hung now and they feel strong. Despite the transportational difficulty, 5 loads of laundry were also completed today! Woo! I know, I know, how uninteresting and domestic. Well, time for such things has been scarce recently so it's a pleasent thing to see an empty hamper. We did some shopping at Bed, Bath and Beyond to pick up some "Space Bags," which are those things you see on TV where you can store stuff in them and then suck all the air out to make them really small. I've wanted one for a really long time and now I mean to suck the air out of a whole bunch of stuff! :) We watched The Fellowship of the Ring again tonight (with extended scenes) while folding laundry.. damn, it just gets better every time.
