2003-06-27 3:55 PM New JournalScape Feature: Faster Entry Posting! Woo hoo!! I just learned something new and you guys get to benefit.
Not all of you will notice the improvement, but those of you who have several subscribers will hopefully be jumping for joy. I have 17 subscribers to my journal as the posting of this entry. Previously, whenever I posted a new journal entry the page would hang for 30-120 seconds while the server was waiting and sending emails to all of my subscribers. It made for an unhappy user to be sitting there waiting... and waiting. Well no more! When you post an entry, the emails to your subscribers will be dispatched to a seperate email handler so that your new journal entry will show up immediately while the server silently sends those subscriptions emails in the background. No more waiting!! Woo!!! Now, the technology that I used to do this is very new to me, so I'm wary of bugs that might be involved that I do not know about. Please email me about any strangeness that you encounter! Read/Post Comments (10) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
