2004-03-28 1:58 PM Tour de Valley This weekend was an amazing exercise in new experiences!
Yesterday, Steven came over and we called up Keaver to see if he wanted to come over and play some strategy games. Keaver counter-offered with an invitation to come sailing with him! So, we went on down to Marina Del Rey to Keaver's sail boat and the adverture began! Keaver explained a lot of the terminology and gave us instructions so we could help him, it was a lot of fun! Once the motor got us out of the Marina, we raise the sails and headed south for about 7 miles and visited some happy little sea lions sunning themselves on bouys. I started getting a little queasy while watching the sea lions, I think the motion wasn't as noticable until I was looking at a close object that was also moving up and down. It was a LOT of fun! My adventure today was with Ken and Shelley who invited me to go on a short bike ride with them in Northridge (and when I saw short, I mean short for them *smile*). I drove up to Cal State Northridge this morning where their bike club meets and we started a 24 mile ride! They explained the lingo and the hand signals they use to communicate with each other, it was a lot of fun. I think overall I could have actually gone a lot farther, but I was pretty dead near the end because of a 4.5 mile slight uphill into the wind section. Muscles... dying... lungs... failing... A map of our bike route, Winnetka Awakening! Now, I'm showered, the cats are here, I'm in comfy clothes and I'm totally going to veg for the rest of the day. :) Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
