Last night I was listening to the Tavis Smiley show, which I often enjoy. He had on two roboticists from JPL to discuss I, Robot, the issues it brings up about robotics and whether or not these are real issues that we will need to deal with.

So, the first roboticist starts talking and mentions Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics. Tavis interupts him and asks if he could quickly state the Three Laws for the listeners...

... and he can't do it.

*blink*blink*

Let me just say for the record, if you are a sci-fi fan and you don't know the Three Laws of Robotics... I will forgive you. If you are a roboticist and don't know the Three Laws of Robotics.... I will look at you sideways, but still be able to forgive you.

However, if you are a roboticist who comes on the radio to discuss I, Robot and make a referenence to Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics, but don't know the Three Laws....

... then you're a moron and don't deserve forgiveness.
