2008-07-12 11:16 PM I got 3 things on 3rd St. Promenade Today This morning I was laying in bed and thinking about what I was going to do today. My afternoon plan was to head down to Kyle's and raid from there, crash at his place and then help Kyle with some home improvement stuff on Sunday. So, what would I do until then? Probably just play WoW... and then I thought, instead of spending 5 hours getting virtual epic gear, I could go sit in line at the Apple store and get real epic gear!
So... I got 3 things on 3rd St. Promenade today. 1) A sunburn Mostly on my forearms and face. It was nice and cool in the morning, but the sun came out eventually. I tried to shield my arms as best I could but there was only so much I could do. I got there at 9:40am and got my iPhone at like 2:45pm. Let us discuss the line, shall we? I'm sitting at the end of the line at 9:40am... a woman comes up and adds herself to the end of the line. A few minutes later this teenage (or MABYE early 20s) kid comes up and adds himself to the line. Note... I didn't say the end of the line that time. He walks up and stands between me and the guy in front of me. Now, there isn't a gap between us... it's not really a matter of being confused because he thought the end of the line was there. After saying 3 or 4 things to him about going to the end of the line, he listened and moved. Did he really think it was going to fly? *shrug* He continued to do that though for the remaining 5 hours. Moving forward and encroaching on me to such a degree that at some points he was ahead of me. However, he was not the primary annoyance. The aforementioned woman behind me was much worse. When the line would move forward, I'd scoot up and she would stand SO close to me that when I was sitting my shoulder could be touching her skirt. So, when I moved forward, she'd encroach. When I was sitting still, she would encroach. She continued her encroaching while I was stationary and she eventually kicked over my drink. Throughout the day, she was so unaware of herself that she kicked over 3 other people's drinks. Personally? I know where my feet are. They are attached to me and I like to put them in places that I know are free from debris. Apparently, she does not agree with this way of life. 2) an iPhone! It's sexy. I'm still learning to use it. There is w00tness. 3) a CD from Chelsea Williams During my last hour waiting in the line of uber longness, a singer/songwriter by the name of Chelsea Williams set up her gear and began playing her guitar and singing. This isn't uncommon on 3rd St. Promenade. When she began setting up, I noticed her first because she is incredibly attractive. This photo does not do her justice, but it's one of the nicer ones from her MySpace page: After 4 hours of encroaching rude people and sun and uncomfortable ground to sit upon it was nice to at least have a good view. ;) Then... she started singing and I got weak. She has a stunning voice and a little lilt which makes all of the muscles in your body relax. She's got a country flair to her songs, but she also covered songs like Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T's. After I scored my iPhone I went down to the ATM to get some cash, kicked her down some money and took one of her CDs home with me. I flirted with her the tiniest bit as I bought the CD... well... because I couldn't help it. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
