McCain: Deregulate Health Care just like Banking
This could be funny if it wasn't so stupid.
McCain said in March that he was fundamentally a deregulator. This does fit with his track record as a Senator.
In the Sept/Oct issue of Contingencies, McCain said:
In response to the recent Banking crash (you know, the one he's been deregulating over the last decade), McCain said "I think it's a failure of government and I think it's a failure of regulatory agencies".
So, let me get this straight.
* McCain has been deregulating the Banking industry for over a decade.
* The lack of regulation is what led to the current crisis.
* So... let's deregulate the Health Care industry because it worked so well with Banking!!
You have GOT to be kidding me.

Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.
