RIP Senator Ted Kennedy
I haven't been posting much in my journal, but I figured for posterity I should at least mention the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy.
The Obama website has a nice highlight video for him on the Obama Blog.
The TV is wall-to-wall Kennedy today which is understandable.
One thing caught my ear though. A liberal talking head on Hardball mentioned that they should rename the proposed Health Care Plan being debated in Congress to the "Ted Kennedy Bill" because then more people would vote for it out of respect for Ted Kennedy.
Ok, no. You're an ass to use his death as leverage. People should vote on the bill for its merits (of which it has MANY), but you shouldn't vote on a Bill based on its name. I don't care if it's the PATRIOT Act or the Ted Kennedy Bill or whatever. Trying to use his death as a political tool is not ok.
