During Obama's State of the Union speech, he mentioned that he wanted to meet with Republicans on a regular basis to try to push through their differences and get some legislation passed. Two days later he asked if he could join the Republican House Caucus meeting for a short speech and an uncensored Q&A and they accepted...

.. and then he asked for it to be televised... and they accepted. heh. It takes some serious balls and some serious brains to be able to field questions like this without fear. It also requires a good bit of confidence in your position.

This is a long video, but it's worth it. The President takes unscripted and uncensored questions from opposition members of the House. He answers them knowledgeably and at times fiercely. He shows the same kind of pragmatism and honesty which hooked me in the beginning. If all politicians were like President Obama then our government WOULD be the greatest in the world because despite our differences they would still find a way to do good for the citizens.



DAMN I love having a smart President.
