2010-04-15 1:14 PM Wells Fargo Checking Fail Banking Fees are stupid. I'm putting my money in your bank, which allows you to lend it out to people and make interest on my money. That's your fee so shut the hell up.
I set up a Business Checking and Savings account with Wells Fargo. I didn't want to set up a Savings account, because I don't plan to keep too much money in the account, but the business account manager said that they required a savings account with at least $500 in order to waive the fees. Then they charged me a monthly fee. I had to call to get it refunded and ensure it wouldn't happen again. Then they charged me another monthly fee. I had to call it get it refunded and find out WTF happened. They said I also needed to be enrolled in paperless statements and have Online Bill Pay configured for the account for it to be eligible to waive the fees. Then they charged me another monthly fee. I called my account manager again and got no answer. I called again and got no answer. So I went physically to my branch today to talk to my account manager. She wasn't there, but I talked to another guy who told me that the only way they could waive the fees was if I let them set up an automated monthly transfer of $100 from my savings to my checking account. *sigh* I explained briefly how stupid I thought that was and told him to set it up and get the other fees waived. Then I came home and set up an automated transfer that returns the $100 to its original location. Banks are stupid. and I guarantee I'm still going to get charged.
