I've been hoping to return to posting journal entries on a better note... but alas, no. I was hoping to post about closing escrow on my first investment property in Long Beach (which IS in progress and should hopefully close this week), but today I came home from the Bank and found my home had been burglarized.



It appears they were looking for cash and jewelry. They tossed all drawers, all closets. Everything was strewn about.. but they didn't touch ANY of the computers or other bits of easy-to-grab technology I have. It's very confusing. We're going through everything to figure out what is missing. So far some incidental cash is missing and two pieces of replaceable gold jewelry of Theresa's. They totally missed all of the few pieces of expensive jewelry in the house because they are kept in abnormal places.

They managed to break open my fire safe but then didn't take anything. My SSN card, Passport, Birth Certificate, Car Title, etc.. So strange.

We're very fortunate that so little was taken, but it's still rather unnerving. The police are returning tomorrow to dust for prints.
