2004-08-06 3:41 PM The Long-Decayed Brain of Plato Mood: Wait And See Read/Post Comments (0) |
According to a recent report Ireland Is Lost Island of Atlantis, Says Scientist.
Well now, maybe it was and maybe it wasn't. But two things of note: 1) the "scientist" calculates the chance that Plato had knowledge of Ireland at 99.98%. What a load of &$#%! It's likely that Plato did have such knowledge, but you can't calculate a percentage for it! I mean, what total lunacy to try to make your case better by making such an absurd statement, and then take it out to two decimal places. Sigh. 2) I would expect this kind of news article to conclude with some scholars "locate it soley in Plato's imagination" rather than that they "locate it solely in the long-decayed brain of Plato." That's just a strange way to put it. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
