Last year we rode bikes a lot. This year, not so much.

For one reason or another (twisted ankle, missed signing up for centuries, being pregnant, playing WoW too much, Hawaii vacation), neither of us has ridden with the club, and have not done any long routes alone either.

I broke the dry spell today with a 52-mile club ride from Northridge to Griffith Observatory and back. It's four times the length of my usual commute, so it proved to be a good ice breaker and training re-starter for the one century I do plan to do -- in late August -- provided Kelley does not object.

One guy sported a beautiful green-with-Celtic-knotwork Ireland jersey that perhaps someday I'll get in my size.

Oh, and I discovered after the ride on the way home that just off campus where I work Chipotle is about done putting up their latest eatery. Won't you all come visit me for lunch so we have an excuse to go there?
