2006-04-09 11:41 AM Six Pack Mood: Fine Read/Post Comments (2) |
Shelley's college roommate and her beau visited for the weekend, en route back to Texas after a conference in San Francisco.
We spent Saturday afternoon up at Mt. Wilson Observatory on a docent-led tour. Nothing new for us, because we've done it before, but it was Baby's First Scientific Establishment Visit. We had a picnic lunch up there and Zero got to have snow kicked in her face, as she loves to do. The Meeplemobile performed flawlessly. Four adults, a baby, and two dogs couldn't slow it down on the multi-thousand foot climb, and it didn't even bottom out on our driveway! The XM radio also worked well all the way up and back, except on a couple few-second occasions when we got too close to a signal-blocking rock wall hugging the south side of the road. In the evening we enjoyed a traditional cheese fondu, and much Hornesby's cider, with some introductory games for the company. I had an entire six-pack myself and maintained a strong buzz through much of the night. Haven't done that in quite some time. Didn't even have a headache the next day, though, so no harm done. We did learn that the fondu recipe does not scale up, however, when we doubled the ingredients. ![]() This is the evil squirrel in charge of the place.
