Looks like plans will be changing for summer. Boat and plane schedules do not work out allowing me to fly out to Shoals for a weekend of shooting panoramas there in late June for the next WWP event (theme: gardens). Alas. I had hoped to photograph Celia Thaxter's Garden as well as the rest of the island and lab, finally, as I've wanted to do for a year or two now.

Planes arrive early enough, but the one boat to the island runs only in the afternoon, and its return trip the next day gets back to Portsmouth after all west-bound flights have departed. Limited time doesn't allow for another day. Plus flying out just for one day of shooting runs a significant risk of adverse weather, so Shoals will have to wait.

Also, flights to England during high tourist season are rather more expensive than we had hoped, plus we have to pay a good portion of a seat cost for Baby. Ergo, it's most likely at this point that Shelley and Kelley won't be coming over to England for a week after my dig. We'll just have to save her passport for another summer.

Instead, it looks like I'll come back to the U.S. for my currently scheduled fifth week off and shoot panoramas at Shoals sometime then. This plan will finally put that project in the bag if we can carry it through. Shelley and Kelley will probably fly east for a week and then we can all go camping and hiking in Arcadia or some place nearby.
