I'd like to think that if I had been there I would have noticed the guy and listened to his music. And I want to believe that if I had had Kelley along, I would not have interposed myself between her and him if she showed any interest in the music.

This relates to the The Washington Post's fascinating experiment and publication Pearls Before Breakfast, which makes very interesting reading, albeit with unsurprising results.

Basically, they took one of the world's top classical violinists and had him play incognito on his three-million-dollar instrument in a metro stop in Washington, D.C., just to see who would notice and how people would behave.

Would people notice the quality of the performance or music? Would a croud gather? Would they throw money into his case? Have a read and find out for yourself.
