At the conference last week, I attended a session that demonstrated how to include Google maps into a web site.

So I added them to our college map page to show our building location and nearby parking lots. This interactive map replaces a pretty bad one generally in use around the campus and on other CSUN web sites.

What fun!

The Google Maps API (application programming interface) offers far more features than used in this sample.

For example, one might use it to show areas of the South Pacific, and overlay it with custom-designed clickable icons representing planes and ships...
