For some time now I've wanted a flash unit for my camera, but the cost and quite a bit of laziness kept me from getting one.

Both factors were overcome recently and I've started using it, with rather surprising results. I bought it chiefly to have the option of bouncing a flash rather than pointing it straight into Baby's eyes. I had no idea that the quality of the photo would be so dramatically affected.




Which is which?




No edits were made to either photo or to the room lighting; the only change was the the direction of the flash unit's output.

Top is straight-on, bottom is bouncing. As you'll see in April's set of baby photos, I prefer the new look. A lot.
