Want to know how rural our new house is? We're so far out in the country that we're not even on a rural delivery route!

After several phone calls to the post offices at Harford and Richford, I believe a rural route is going to be extended to reach a to-be-installed mailbox at our new place, as long as we put the mailbox across the road on the downhill side. The mail carrier said he submitted the paperwork and thinks it will go through, but it will take two weeks to find out.

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. But we're not so sure about a little additional uphill road.

If the route is not extended, then we will have to take out a P.O. box but we cannot do that until we go into the office in person with two forms of identification.

If and when we install our own mailbox and delivery to it starts, I'll post here with our official new mailing address.
