The nine of us who make up the Office of Web Communications secluded ourselves in a lodge halfway up the western side of the lake for the past two days.

We spent the time doing a number of exercises to build group cohesiveness, learn about each other, and hear the grand vision of Tommy Bruce, Cornell's Vice-President for University Communications.

Based on previous experiences of this nature, we stayed the course for this kind of gathering, although it was all new to me to hear the vision part, and to find out that our group has really good people in it. Sometimes these kinds of retreats are used when attempting to salvage a group from internal problems, but that's definitely not the case here.


When I got home, we had blackberry shortcake, which some of us take very seriously.
