This entire work week was devoted to CIT's Employee Leadership Program, held at La Tourelle hotel and spa up on the hill above Ithaca College.
Twenty-one new CIT employees made up the latest cohort for the program, which every other CIT staff member has already attended. Overall, I found it to be much the same as other leadership programs I've attended so not much new this time around. Two days of it was espeically repetitive from last week's OWC retreat. Certainly I believe that it's good for all CITers to attend this program and some components entertained and enlightened at the same time. It was a nice break from coding for a week. It was good to meet 20 other people from the organization and get to know them, even if we will interact little in the future. Other people had reported this place as serving great meals, but I found them frankly run-of-the-mill and would not recommend this place for the food. The biggest surprise: at the start they said they'd have break for restrooms and smoking, but when the moderator asked about who would need smoking breaks (to judge how often I suppose), not a single person said they smoked.
