Yesterday a guy I work with came over to our place in order to sight in a shotgun that he's planning to use to hunt deer. He allowed me to fire a number of rounds as well. I think the last time I held and shot anything of the sort was when I was 16 or 17: ages ago! With him came his wife and their year-old daughter, and we all hung out with dinner after.

Earlier in the morning we finally purchased the garden tractor that Shelley's had her eye on for a month or two now. We'd been waiting for the house to close for the funds to buy it. Luckily this very weekend the local dealer had a pre-winter clearance and we saved a few hundred bucks on it. They delivered it today and Shelley hopped right on and mowed part of the yard and the driveway sides and middle so the weeds don't catch the bottom of the car now.

Kelley's returning to daycare in the morning. Should be interesting to see how she takes to the place. We took her and us in for a tour a couple of weeks ago for an overview. It's brand-spanking-new and now actually open, unlike when we visited.
