As mentioned, the Cornell Wellness Program ran a walking contest during the month October. My pedometer racked up 308,784 steps during that time. According to the conversion chart the program provides, that's a little over 150 miles. Those little steps do add up.
Before we find out who wins today's historic election, I want to congratulate and praise my friend Kenny for his efforts on behalf of Barack Obama, over in Elko, Nevada. The amount of racism, ignorance, and anti-voting efforts coming to light is shameful, disgusting, and sickening. And Kenny was right in the middle of some of it. Kudos for persistence, patience, and putting up with it. May Obama triumph today, and by a landslide. May his doing so be a large step toward eliminating the worst of what Elko and many other places have demonstrated still grips too many people.
