Last night my husband's SUV wouldn't start. It's a serious problem I understand and one that will cost thousands to fix. We do not have thousands to get it fixed. Just after Christmas? huh. I don't know anyone with money to spare.

So, as in our books, the choices now become sucky or suckier. We can either carpool, for a few months, or take out a loan for the repairs, and struggle to pay that bill on top of all the others.

What would my characters do?
