I was looking at Gee Vaucher's book Crass Art today and found a quote that sums up why her work appeals to me.

At its best art is a lie that helps us realise the truth, at its worst it is a confirmation of the lies that we inherit. -Picasso

Vaucher claims these words as her own, and looking at the various collages, paintings and drawings in her book the influence these words have had on her is clear.

I was lucky to get Gee to create the cover illustration for this collection.
