The high temperature today is supposed to be 54 degrees. Yay! Yay! I know this sounds balmy to many people, but it sounds nice and cool to me. The only drawback is that, instead of being at work, I want to go home and bake chocolate chip cookies and take warm gooey cookies and a book into my warm cozy bed. That sounds perfect to me.

In a few hours, my astronomy lab students will have to go outside to do some measurements. I shall hear whining about the cold. Yesterday morning, only half of my class showed up on time because it was raining. One of the people who DID show up on time was a nineteen-year old man who had only 4 hours of sleep since Sunday because that's when his girlfriend gave birth to their daughter. (Brought in cute photos). I think if HE could show up on time, the others had no excuse.

Mmmmm...cookies....
