I stood in line today for "Attack of the Clones". Here in Phoenix, there has been a lineup at one of the theaters since May 3 for the midnight showing. I thought I should put in some time to assure getting a good spot in line on opening night. I met some people from the local Fanforce chapter - seemed nice, although I exhibited my usual anti-social behavior by sitting slightly apart and reading a book. Spent a few hours in line before it got too flippin' hot to continue. Why can't George put movies out in January? Sigh.

The local theater chain sponsoring the lineup, Harkins Theatres , has been very supportive both of this line and the one three years ago. They allow people to set up tents and even run extension cords out so that the line members can run TVs and computers. Harkins is still a family-owned business and the current president is a real movie geek. It's nice to see.

I am a geek. I admit it.
