I spent the past few days in Los Angeles, helping Greg entertain his father as he recovered from cataract surgery. Strange things happen when we are in LA, and this time I'm having difficulty deciding which event was the most surreal.

Was it watching a friend (to remain unnamed) being profanely screamed at by a neighbor whose driveway he had unwittingly blocked?

Was it watching Greg's dad bolt into the bathroom to hide when the babysitter brought Greg's niece home?

Was it watching the old sleeping man who looked like Santa Claus wake up and look straight at Greg after Greg said, "Wake up, Santa Claus" from inside our car, several yards away?

Really surreal. (If something can be really surreal.)
